Navigation Tab Tutorial
The navigation system was created to easily coordinate team movements as well as to lighten up and ease communication of enemy and friend positions and activities. To do this, it takes someone to host a (provided) navigation server which will share information with every ally that is connected to it through the bot. Every friend connected will communicate his exact position to all other allies connected to the server. Furthermore, if a friend sees an enemy that is on his enemy list he will send the coordinates of that player to everyone else connected. All those will appear on your screen in the direction that they are situated (displaying must be enabled in the HUD options).
- IP / Port: The person that will be hosting the server must run navserv.exe (port 7175 by default) provided with the bot and give out his IP to the clients which is to be enetered here. The second box is for the port, by default it is set to 7175; if you want to change this everyone trying to connect would need to change the port number too.
- Login: The desired name that you wish other players to see you as. This is determined solely by you.
- Pass: This is where you enter the password that the person hosting the navserv chose when setting it up.
- Color rgb: If you want a custom color for your name, you can click in this field to choose one through a color dialog.
- Disable custom colors: This option sets player names to the default color. If you are annoyed by the fact that people use too many flashy colors, you can reduce it to the usual blue for friends and red for enemies with this option.
- Show real names: If you don't want to see people's custom names, you can use this option to use their character names.
- Don't send enemies: This option disables the updating of enemy player locations. This can be useful if you're lagging when connected to the naviserv.
- Connect: This button connects you to the navigation server with all the specified settings. It will also keep reconnecting every few seconds in case the server is down.
Self connection:
To connect with yourself on one computer, just start the navigation server, which is located in the main folder of the elfbot called "navserv".
Then enter localhost in the IP box. After that, enter the password. The default password is "changeme".
